Bausch Potatoes:

Located in the beautiful Waterloo Valley south of Whitehall, Montana, Bausch Potato's land is one of the earliest cultivated sites in Montana. The first crops grown in the area were strawberries, but since the 1940s Bausch Potatoes has produced different varieties of fresh potatoes for local retail and institutional food services, and even began processing some of their own potatoes in the 1970s. Mark Bausch and his wife, Denise, have continued the Bausch family’s tradition of small-scale farming since they took over ownership of the farm in 1996. "We stuck with the mindset from the 1940s and '50s—we've just stayed local. For a while it seemed like everyone was doing things differently, larger scale, out-of-state, so there were a lot of impulses and pressure to do that too," said Mark. There are a lot of challenges inherent with owning a small farm that have increased with time. However, according to Mark, "This has always worked for us, so we kept doing it, and now it’s working better than ever. We kept to the same principles and now people appreciate them more than ever." We’re supplying to other guys like us: small, locally owned businesses, and we do all we can to help each other out."

Granite Peak Hardscape & Landscape, LLC. Granite Peak is a family owned and operated, full service landscaping company that was established in 2004. The owner, a native of Bozeman, Montana brings decades of experience to the industry. Granite Peak provides a one-stop shop for any area of landscaping and hardscaping, including design, maintenance, installation, irrigation, stone walls, stone patios, water features, retaining walls, gardening, pruning, planting, grading and lighting for residential and commercial clients.

"Bozeman, MT, seemed as good a place as any to set down roots. That is what German-born Julius Lehrkind must have thought when he bought the local brewery in 1995. As a young man, Julius had worked in a brewery in New York City before operating one in Iowa, outside Des Moines. With his own plant in Bozeman, he decided to build a bottling room and produce soft drinks such as sarsaparilla and lemon soda. He added what would later become the crown jewel of his business when he was awarded a Coca-Cola franchise in 1914. The brewery closed in 1919 when Prohibition hit Montana. The soft drink plant continued to eke out a living for Julius and his son Carl Sr., who was later joined by his son, Carl Jr. The two "Carls" ran the business as a partnership for many years until the elder Carl retired. Today, this business is run by Carl Lehrkind III and IV.

"In 1966 Andrew (Andy) Perlinski, the son of a grocer, followed in his father's footsteps and started Town and Country Montana. Town and Country Foods is recognized for its low, affordable prices. These full-service grocery stores offer quality and value in their fresh produce, dairy, meat, in-store bakery, and deli selections. Their wide variety includes organic and natural selections, gluten free items, and special orders."

"The Folkvord family has been involved in agriculture for three generations. Through hard work, determination and good fortune, Wheat Montana Farms has become the model agriculture operation of the Northern Great Plains. Our operations encompass 12,000 acres of the most productive soil in Montana. Located near the headwaters of the Missouri River near the town of Three Forks and surrounded by the majestic Elkhorn Mountains. At 5,000 feet above sea level, it is also the highest elevation grain is grown in North America. The low rainfall, high elevation and cool nights on our farm result in some of the highest quality grains in the world. Today Wheat Montana is still Family owned and operated. Our staff consists of over 100 dedicated employees with some of the highest credentials in the field. Our facility includes grain cleaning, processing, flour milling and a full scale bakery that services a five state area. Our grains, cereal, and flour are sold nationwide.
